For day-to-day operations we need about £28k each year.
Our income from fares, rebates on concessionary fares & fuel costs plus donations from individuals and local organisations just about covers our outgoings – on fuel, insurance, servicing and so on.
We have a fund which hopefully will go some way towards the cost of a replacement bus in 5 or 6 years’ time. However, to secure our future as the provider of vital community bus services in and around Princes Risborough your donations are really valuable in helping us to maintain and, hopefully, grow the services we provide. Our team of some 30 drivers are all volunteers. We ensure that they all take and pass the Mini Bus Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) course run by certificated MiDAS providers. They are also covered by indemnity insurance. Their monthly schedule of drives is organised by our Coordinator and for continuity we try to ensure each driver has at least two drives per month. Driving the bus is very rewarding, “knowing that you make a difference” as one driver said. And they are well thought of; “these drivers are the most helpful I have been served by for 44 years” said a passenger recently.
