FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use the bus?
Quite simply anyone. We even have a ramp that the driver can use if needed to help you with shopping trolleys, rollators and pushchairs.
Where can the bus take me?

We operate six routes:

  • Three town routes within Princes Risborough serving Monks Risborough, Trees and Fields (the roads behind M&S named after trees or ending in field) and Longwick and
  • Three village routes to Bledlow, Kimble and Ellesborough and Speen.

All routes start and finish at the George and Dragon Public House in Princes Risborough High Street. Please use this link to our timetable.

You are most welcome to join us for a ride on any route to see the sights. The Speen and Bledlow routes are particularly picturesque at certain times of the year.

We also offer outings, please use this link to see the latest trips and how to book.

Where can I get the bus from and where should I stand and wait and how do I hail the bus?

We run a hail and ride service so just stand anywhere along the routes and make a clear signal to the driver you want us to stop.

Routes & Timetables
How much does the bus cost and how do I pay for it?
If you have a bus pass (concessionary card) or are 16 years of age or younger it is free. In all other cases it is £2.00 for the “town routes” or £2.50 for the “village routes” for a single journey. Cash only as we do not accept payment cards at this stage.
How do I let the driver know that I want to get off?
There are stop buttons inside the bus that when pushed tell the driver you need to alight. Normally drivers will ask you where you want to be dropped off, if not a shout "Please stop here" is equally acceptable.
How many times a day does the bus run?

Up to six times a day (Monday – Saturday am) on the Monks Risborough, Trees and Fields and Longwick routes and up to three times a day on the days we run the village routes of Speen (Tuesdays), The Bledlows (Wednesday am and Fridays) and The Kimbles (Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays am).

Timetables
Does the bus run every day?
We run 6 days a week with the following exceptions; no service after 1315 on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. No services on Sundays and Public Holidays.
When does the bus start and when does it stop?

It varies by route and day so here is a link to our timetable.

All routes start and finish at the George and Dragon Public House in Princes Risborough High Street.

Can I bring my dog on the bus?
Yes of course at no charge, we do however expect you to keep your dog on a lead (and clear up any spillages!).
Can I bring a young child on the bus?
Yes of course they are more than welcome. We have special straps for 3 years and older, and for children under 3 we have two options, either keeping the child in the pram/buggy with brakes on and holding tight or carried in your arms. It's your choice which method you use.
Can I use the bus if I use a wheelchair?
Because securing an occupied wheelchair takes such a long time, we are regrettably unable to carry you on our scheduled routes unless you can leave the wheelchair and sit in a normal seat. However, we can take one occupied, fully secured wheelchair if specially requested at times outside our normal scheduled services.
Our drivers are trained to help so just ask!
